The Family Commission of Christ Church, Manipal, under the able leadership of Mr. Norbert Fernandes, joyfully celebrated Grandparents Day with deep gratitude and affection for the elderly members of our parish.
The grandparents were warmly welcomed with a rose as a token of love and appreciation before the Holy Eucharistic Celebration. They actively participated in the liturgy, making the celebration truly meaningful. At the conclusion of the Mass, a special prayer and solemn blessing were offered for all elderly parishioners, invoking God’s abundant grace, good health, and peace upon them.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the grandparents gathered at the Conference Hall, where they were served a delicious breakfast and enjoyed a time of fellowship and togetherness.
The parish extends its heartfelt appreciation and sincere thanks to **Mr. Norbert Fernandes** and the members of the Family Commission for thoughtfully organizing this beautiful celebration in honour of our grandparents.
The Holy Eucharistic Celebration also marked a significant occasion as six parishioners were commissioned to serve as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. They are:

- Mrs. Prabha Cecil
- Mrs. Joan Fernandes
- Mrs. Sharlet Martis
- Mrs. Asha Rodrigues
By humbly accepting this important ministry, they have responded generously to God’s call to serve the Church and assist in the distribution of the Holy Eucharist. As a parish community, let us keep them in our prayers, asking the Lord to bless them with wisdom, humility, and grace as they faithfully carry out this sacred responsibility.
May God continue to bless our grandparents with health, joy, and strength, and guide our newly commissioned Extraordinary Ministers in their ministry of service.
